1. Who we are
Dir Connect (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a social media management and intelligence product operated by DIR Innovation at dirconnect.dir.et. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have — including when you connect Facebook Pages and Instagram Business/Creator accounts through Meta.
2. Information we collect
- Account details you provide (name, username, email, organization).
- Content you upload — creatives, captions, campaign settings, schedules, and approval workflow metadata.
- Meta connection data — when you authorize Dir Connect: access tokens and identifiers for Pages, Instagram accounts, and (if authorized) ad accounts needed to publish, schedule, go live, measure, boost, or run analytics on assets you administer.
- Usage and diagnostics — basic product logs needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.
3. How we use Meta / Instagram data
We use Facebook and Instagram permissions only to:
- Connect Pages and Instagram accounts you administer.
- Publish, schedule, or delete content you create and approve in Dir Connect.
- Mention other Pages when you choose to tag them in posts.
- Go live to destinations you connect and read engagement on those sessions.
- Read engagement and insights on your own posts for calendar and analytics.
- Search public Instagram hashtags/topics for competitive and topic insights when you use Analytics (Instagram Public Content Access).
- Create promotions (Boost) for your own posts via Meta’s Marketing APIs.
We do not sell Instagram or Facebook data, scrape unrelated private profiles, or use your tokens to advertise for other businesses without your authorization.
4. Storage and security
Access tokens from Meta are stored server-side and are not exposed to the browser. We use industry-standard protections (HTTPS, access controls, encrypted storage for secrets where applicable). You can disconnect an account under Integrations at any time.
5. Sharing
We share data with Meta only as required to provide the features you request (login, publishing, live, insights, ads). We do not sell personal data. We may share information if required by law or to protect the service and our users.
6. Your choices & data deletion
You can:
- Disconnect Facebook or Instagram under Integrations in Dir Connect.
- Revoke Dir Connect in your Facebook, Instagram, or Meta Business settings.
- Request access, correction, or deletion of personal data associated with your Dir Connect account.
How to request deletion: email angelo@dir.et with the subject “Dir Connect data deletion request” and the username or email on your account. We will delete or de-identify personal data we hold for that account within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records for legal, security, or accounting reasons. Disconnecting Meta stops further API access; deletion removes stored tokens and associated Connect records for that user where feasible.
